At Warcraft’s 30th Anniversary celebration, Blizzard Entertainment announced a PC version of Warcraft Rumble, with an open beta that will start on December 10. The RTS game was first launched on mobile devices in 2023, and it will bring its free-to-play, micro-transaction-based model to PC.
A new split Leaders system will also launch alongside the PC version on both platforms. Four leaders will enable players to combine units from two different families: Sylvanas Windrunner (Horde/Undead), Orgrim Doomhammer (Horde/Blackrock), Malfurion (Alliance/Cenarion), and Anub'arak (Beasts/Undead). The system will divide Sigil progress and Family Crests between both unit families, with leaders providing unique combat abilities like Sylvanas's Windrunner Warchief speed bonus. Players will be able to deploy these leaders in both dungeon weeks of their respective families, doubling potential progression opportunities.
The mobile game's PvE campaign, dungeons, raids, and online PvP skirmishes across Azeroth-themed maps will all transfer to PC at launch. Currently, the mobile version requires extensive grinding or microtransactions to progress, with advanced content locked behind higher-level units, though Blizzard hasn't confirmed if the PC version will use the same system.
