Konami has launched version 2.0.0 for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S, two months after its PC release.
The update adds new display options to both Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, though the patch notes stated that they are not available on Nintendo Switch. Players running the games on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, or Xbox Series X can now display them in up to 4K resolution through the new Adjusted Mode, while Xbox Series S supports WQHD and base PlayStation 4 reaches FHD.
Other two display modes follow as Original Mode, which displays games at their initial PS2-era resolution, and Custom Mode, which allows players to fine-tune their display settings, including internal resolution, upscaling, and movie quality. These display options must be configured before starting a game to ensure stability.
Alongside the visual improvements, Konami added full controller remapping options in the pause menu, and fixed several minor technical issues.
