The ambitious life simulation game InZoi will make players wait a few months longer than planned, with developer Krafton announcing a new early access release date of March 28, 2025. The highly anticipated Sims competitor, which garnered attention for its detailed graphics and innovative features, was originally scheduled to debut in late 2024.
Krafton's development team, led by director Hyungjun Kim, made the announcement through the game's Discord community. The delay follows extensive player testing of the game's character creation system, dubbed Character Studio, which received positive feedback during its demo period. Kim emphasized that the development team is using insights gathered from these play sessions to refine the experience. "We're building a stronger foundation to ensure InZoi can thrive long-term," he told the community.
The timing places InZoi in an interesting position within the life simulation landscape. While one anticipated competitor, Life By You, recently ceased development, another title called Paralives is also targeting an early 2025 release. Meanwhile, genre stalwart The Sims 4 continues to evolve, with publisher EA simultaneously developing Project Rene, its upcoming multiplayer-focused life simulation.
InZoi has captured attention with unique features that set it apart from traditional life sims, including vehicle accidents and supernatural elements like ghost interactions. The game comes from an unexpected source - Krafton, the South Korean publisher best known for the battle royale hit PUBG.
Kim assured fans that the extra development time will be used to polish every aspect of the game. His message focused on creating an experience with staying power, promising regular updates about the team's progress leading up to the March release.
