Far From Home announced in a recent PlayStation Blog post the release of a custom-designed PlayStation 5 demo for its sci-fi survival game, Forever Skies. The demo, playable now, offers a PlayStation-themed blue airship skin that will carry over to the game's 1.0 release when players complete all objectives and maintain their save file.
The PlayStation 5 version features DualSense controller support with adaptive triggers for the deck extractor, build tool, and scanner, along with haptic feedback for airship piloting. It also offers performance and high fidelity display modes, and utilizes the controller's built-in speaker for voice prompts.
Players begin the demo by crash-landing on Earth, where they must scavenge supplies and use various tools to survive. The demo area includes abandoned towers, makeshift towns, and wind farms to explore once players get their airship flight-ready. According to community manager Greg Cummings, completing the main objectives takes about an hour, with additional exploration extending playtime to around 2.5 hours.
Far From Home said it plans to launch version 1.0 simultaneously on PC and PS5 in early 2025, though a date was not announced in the blog post.
